Why this stage matters

This is where the 2027 race makes history.

Organisers say it is the first time men's and women's races have been staged over the same course and distance on the same day. From Glenelg onwards, every race day is two races. Stand in one place and you watch the season pass twice.

The road south is not flat. Cherry Gardens comes early at 14.1 km, Heatherdale Hill at 71.6 km and Nosworthy Hill at 101.3 km. Then Nettle Hill Road, the only category one climb of the day, with ramps to 15.6% and about 21 km left to race. The sprints come at Snapper Point in Aldinga at 56.5 km and on Main South Road in Yankalilla at 92.9 km.

The finish runs the length of The Esplanade at Victor Harbor. Expect the men around 2:14pm and the women around 4:26pm.

Watching Stage 4

Glenelg gives you both starts within 90 minutes. Nettle Hill Road is where the climbers try to break it up. The Esplanade gives you two finishes in one afternoon.
